Impact Exhibition at RCA

“This technology embedded in a HAL9000-like eye of Sauron can detect heat signatures (as shown on a video on the left on the picture below). Doing this, the system assesses a person’s physiological state and turn the changes into movements/dials on a family dashboard (with barometer-like displays).” From http://liftlab.com/think/nova/2010/03/20/impact-exhibition-at-the-rca/

Pebble. A reflection about diversity of tech artifacts.

“Imagine if consumers had the pick of an endless array of devices, each one its own distinct shape, size and color while keeping the internal components the same”.
I would like to find a way to let tech objects tell hisories. Gain patina. In this sense I believe in obj with some funciton but different shape. But not because the obj is manufactored in different shapes but because the tech obj is able to evolve in different directions depending on the usage.
Designing obj that retain stories.
